Good Afternoon Folks!
As always I want to thank you for all that you have done for our program!  Without your hard work in the past, we wouldn't have the success that we do today!

We had a great weekend last Friday and Saturday as we won the Concorde District tournament!  Our goal to begin the tournament was to send the entire 14 man team to the region, and we were able to meet that goal!

We were able to put 13 kids into the semis and 10 wrestlers into the finals on Friday night.  All 4 wrestlers who were in the consolations on Friday night won in the consolation semis to move into the region and moving into the final day, the team was ahead by 24.5 points over Westfield.

On Saturday morning, we lost 3 of 4 consolation finals matches,  Brandon Greyson (113), Ralph Mpanu (145) and JP Vittori (220) finished 4th, and Daniel Mika finished 3rd.

In the afternoon finals, the team came out with a district champion in Greyson Olimpo at 106.  He won a 6-5 war, and did what was needed to find the top of the podium.  At 120, Mason Rockman wrestled well, but came up just short  5-2 by his Westfield opponent.  At 126, Austin Riggs won his first District title over a tough opponent from Oakton 13-8.  At 132, Dane Robbins avenged a regular season loss with a takedown and backpoints in the 3rd period to win 8-5.   At 138, Dallas Smith came closer, but lost 3-0 to his Westfield opponent.  At 152, Jack Bass won by pin in period 1.  He won his 3 matches in less than 2 minutes total.  At 160 and 170 the Depo brothers Zak and Cole DePasquale were both able to avenge season losses to the Aiello brothers from Westfield.  Zak won 8-3 and Cole won 3-2.  At 195, Joe White lost a 3-2 triple OT match, and at Heavyweight, Jake Pinkston won his district title with a score of 9-3.  We won the eent by 21 points 221-200 over runner-up Westfield, and we hope to carry this momentum into the Region tournament this Friday and Saturday at Hayfield Secondary School.  Below is the schedule.
