This is what it's all about!!! District start tomorrow! GO RAMS! Before we recap the last week and a half, I want to thank you for all of the hard work and dedication that you have given to us! We are experiencing a lot of success, and your contributions to our program are the reason for that success.
On the weekend of January 19th, we traveled to Stafford Virginia to compete in the USMC Ultimate Challenge at Colonial Forge High School. The team competed at a high level, Due to contest limitations and health issues, we held out a few of our guys to make sure they are prepared for the districts. The guys that competed, competed well, and the competition prepared us for the Virginia AAA post-season. We had champs at 126 (Austin Riggs), 138 (Dallas Smith), 152 (Jack Bass) and 170 (Cole DePasquale). At 160, Zak DePasquale was the runner-up, at 120 Mason Rockman was third, at 182 Joe White was 4th, Dane Robbins was 5th at 132, and at 220 JP Vittori was 6th. As a team we finished 3rd which made us hungry for the upcoming weeks! At the end of the tournament 152 lb stud, Jack Bass was awarded the tournaments Outstanding wrestler. On Wednesday 1/23, we wrestled a tough Mount Vernon team, and we celebrated our Senior Class. Eight seniors were recognized in a great evening of wrestling. Greyson Olimpo, Dallas Smith, Ralph Mpanu, Josh Trowell, Eric Wicks, Zach Israel, Joe White and Emily Unwin were announced and the crowd showed great appreciation for their contributions to the program. This past weekend, the team traveled to Aston, PA and Sun Valley High School to compete in the Vanguard invitational. We brought 13 of our 14 starters, and we competed very well. We moved 9 wrestlers to the finals, and we finished with 7 champions, 2 runner ups, a third and a fourth. Champions were 120 Rockman, 126 Riggs, 138 Smith, 152 Bass, 160 Z. DePasquale, 182 Mika, and HWT Pinkston. Runner ups were 106 Olimpo and 132 Robbins. 3rd went to 170 C. Depo and 4th went to 113 Greyson. As a team, we won the event by a substantial margin, and we left with everyone in tact ready for this weekend's Concorde District tournament.

Tomorrow, 2/1, the Districts start at Westfield High School. Below is the schedule. We need all of your support as we compete. It hopefully will be a successful weekend for us as we try to send as many athletes as possible to the Regional tournament the following weekend at Hayfield Secondary.
