Wrestling Installment

Armed Forces Night! View this email in your browser
Good Evening Robinson Fans,
I can't wait to catch you up on all of the happenings in Robinson Wrestling.  We were extremely busy and successful over the winter holidays, but before I fill you in on our last several competitions, I wanted to remind you of our match Wednesday night against District rivals Westfield and Centreville.  The matches should be great, but more importantly, we are going to celebrate our Armed Forces and our alumni.
We will begin at 6 PM with the Westfield/Centreville match.  That match will be followed by our dual with Centreville at about 7:15 and then we will wrestle Westfield at about 8:30.  Each individual match will be dedicated to service members from our wrestling community.  If you are, or you know of members of the Robinson wrestling community who are serving or have served our country, please send me their names, service branch and rank.  We have many from year's past, but I know we need to update our list!

We are so blessed to have the freedoms that we do, and this is in large part to our military who keep us free!  We want to give them their fair RESPECT!  Below is our press release!  I hope to see you there!  I will send out my installment tomorrow morning wih a review of our last few weeks.

PRESS RELEASE:
On Wednesday January 9, 2013, the JW Robinson Secondary School Wrestling program will celebrate Armed Forces Appreciation night at 6:00 PM when they host Concorde District rivals Centreville and Westfield.    The night will serve to give gratitude to all men and women who serve or have served our country in the Armed Forces.   Matches will be dedicated to soldiers whose bravery and honor keep our country free, t-shirts and prizes will be given to our service personnel, and thanks will be given throughout the night.   Also, all service personnel who attend the match in uniform will be given free admission.
Bryan Hazard, the head wrestling coach of the Rams wrestling team said, "Our goal is to get 300 uniformed soldiers in the stands.  Selfishly, we spend so much time working for championships and fundraising for our travel, but we forget to thank the people who give us the opportunity for those freedoms.   January 9th will give us a chance to give gratitude.  It should also be a great night of wrestling!"
James W. Robinson, the schools namesake was posthumously awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his valor in the Vietnam conflict.  The Armed forces hold a special place in the halls of Robinson, and the night should be special.
