Installment #15 - Congratulations are in order!

Good Morning Robinson wrestling fans!

I first want to thank all of you for your support!  We would not be here without all of your help!  The tradition of Robinson Wrestling has taken many years to build, and hopefully we are just scratching the surface!

It has been a while since my last installment, and we are busily training for next season; we are also trying to put together a great schedule for next year.  We have had some great sessions this spring, and hopefully we can see a lot of hardware throughout the post season.

We have just finished a design for this year’s state championship ring.  They are going to be very stunning.  We are going to be sized later this week, and we will need to start raising the money for them as well.  Each ring will cost about $225, and I am hoping that we can raise enough money to subsidize the wrestlers and pay for the coaches’ rings.  If you would like to donate to the cause, you can send a tax deductable donation to:

Congratulations are in order for Jack Bass, who last weekend in Virginia Beach became the 140 pound NHSCA Freshman national champion.  He won 5 matches on the road to the final, and he defeated a state champion from South Carolina in the final to bring the title home!    Santiago Valdez came up just short of All-American status as he went 3-2 in the very tough 130 Junior division.  Several of our wrestlers will also b e travelling to Indiana in 2 weeks to compete in the NWCA underclass duals on April 16th.  More to come on that soon!

We have some new members to the Robinson wrestling family as well.  On March 29th, Kevin McKernan (class of 2000) and his wife Bonnie, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl Nora Kathleen.  In other baby news, David Long (class of 1989) and his wife Suzanne, delivered another beautiful baby girl Millicent (Millie) McIntosh Long on Monday April 4th!  We are so happy for both families, and we hope you are blessed with lots of wonderful health and fun for both of the little ones!

Thanks again, and if you know of anyone who doesn’t receive this message, let me know, or direct them to the many ways we communicate…Here are a few.
