Hey Robinson Wrestling Fans!
There are so many avenues for you to follow us, and I hope you are using these resources with pride! I know you hear me ask this every week, but I want you all to feel connected to the program, and below are a few ways you can do that. Most importantly, I hope we can get you to watch us LIVE… it is great to have butts in the seats, and it makes for a fantastic atmosphere when you come. Without each and every one of you, we wouldn’t be here, doing as well as we are today. So again, THANKS!

Now for results from the past week.
On Wednesday night, we honored our 6 Senior Wrestlers, our 1 senior manager. Once again, this year’s graduates included Shon Topper, Kevin Vasquez, Jackson Maxey, Wes Jones, John Buono and Tim Fitzpatrick. Our Senior manager is Lyndsea Seril… All of these young people have added to the success of our program, and they will be sadly missed on the mats. I hope their experience will make them better adults who understand the concept of hard work!
During that evening we also dedicated our match to the Armed Forces, especially our namesake, James W. Robinson who was a Congressional Medal of Honor winner from the Vietnam war. Each match was also dedicated to members of the Robinson Wrestling family who has served in the Armed forces. In our area, we have such a military presence and we are proud of all of our Armed Forces personnel our strong military tradition.
The match was successful as well. We were able to pull out a 54-21 victory! We were also able to get some of our young wrestlers some action on the mats which will benefit us in time to come!

I neglected to tell you a few weeks ago, but Junior Jake Smith reached a milestone with his 100th win. After this weekend, he has a total record of 115- 25. Brooks Martino also broke the century mark this past weekend with his 100th, 101st and 102nd victory! His total record to this point in his Junior year is 102-27.
After Wednesday, we travelled on Friday and Saturday to Baltimore, MD for the 29 team Mount Mat Madness. This is the 7th time we have attended the event, and every year it has gotten tougher! While the competition has improved, so have the Rams, and I was glad to see us come to compete! We lost a few that we wish we had to do over again, but the weekend was successful. As a team, we had our best finish in 7 years finishing with some hardware. We finished in 3rd place, 7 points behind the runner-up, Caesar Rodney out of Delaware and about 70 points away from the champion Wyoming Seminary.
We definitely competed, and all over our athletes gave themselves a chance to win EVERY match. At the end of the weekend, we had 5 of our 12 athletes on the podium. The tournament only placed the top 6, but if we were wrestling for the top 8, we would have had 3 more place winners. Going into day 2 we still had 10 of our 12 wrestlers competing, and we were soooooo close in several of our losses! Our place winners were:
112 – Dallas Smith was 4th – He lost to the same wrestler from Smyrna, DE twice.
119 – Jake Smith was 3rd – He lost to Dom Malone in the Semis, but he wrestled back VERY well and defeated the wrestler from Westmont Hilltop, PA who beat him last year in the same tournament 3-2!
125 – Jack Bass was 3rd – He lost an overtime heartbreaker in the Semis, but he wrestled great coming back!
160 – Wes Jones was 3rd as well! He had a great tournament, but lost 4-2 in the semis against the eventual champion. He won an exciting 3-2 match to get 3rd.
135 – Brooks Martino was the CHAMPION!!! – He had an exciting 1-0 match in the finals, and he had an AWESOME tournament. He is the first champion we have had at MMM in 5 years. We are truly proud!

This is a great week to train and learn! A few of our wrestlers will be heading to Stuarts Draft High School on Saturday.
It is always great to speak with you, and I hope to hear from you soon!
